Ecotourism

In 2009 the domain of Tanail and arcenciel signed a long term partnership deal of which the mission is to enhance the environment for social work services. The objective is to make the domain an agricultural center and a main tourist attraction with innovative activities. Under this context, at Tanaïl, one form of participation in sustainable development is articulated at the ecolodge and the khan which are coupled in the field, where discovery and awareness activities are organized for everyone.

arcenciel defines and develops its touristic activity according to three main criteria:

• The promotion of responsible tourism through sustainable tourism activities that meet the regions hosts’ specificities.
• Improving the socio-economic situation in the peripheral regions of Lebanon
• The protection and development of the natural and cultural heritage of Lebanon

activities 

In November 2012, the domain welcomed around 74,000 visitors. Given the success of this activity and its social and cultural impact, arcenciel plans to develop new activities and pursue the revival of the domain through:

• The rehabilitation of the forest and trails
• The creation of a farmers' market
• The creation of an agricultural machinery exhibition

Since 2010, eco-tourism activities turned around hiking, cycling and horse riding, and games like archery and petanque. All activities are coached with the help of the trainers. The area is equipped with convenient guide posts, which sensitizes the public to the discovery of cultures and respect of the environment.

Suggested Services

A campground exists for individuals, schools, and summer camps. A sanitary public outhouse is available along with a kitchenette for preparing meals in a natural and quiet mind frame. A spot dediated to scout groups is also available for camping activities. Its surroundings present an ideal place for hosting great events, extracurricular activities, or any type of outdoor activity.

Guided tours are available for individuals, groups and schools. The domains dairy farm offers groups a breakfast or lunch formula which includes all kinds of drinks, candies and indulgences.

Shoots and photo sessions within the domains traditional forest are also possible. Several regional and Lebanese creative personalities have chosen to shoot their music videos in the domains countryside, artists such as Elissa, Chérine, Wael kfoury, Ragheb Alémé, Assala, Fadel Shaker & Yara, etc.
